History

The genius who created Robertson's Marmalade was Mrs James Robertson who started making preserves in the back of a shop in 1864. So good is Robertson's marmalade that it has held a Royal Warrant since 1933. The most recognised product in the range is Golden Shred which is great on hot toast and a must for every family's fridge.

Robertson's Jam

In 2009 we stopped making Robertson's jam for the UK market. As Premier Foods owns both the Hartley's and Robertson's brands it was decided that Hartley's would concentrate on making great tasting jams and Robertson's would focus on making the World's Best Marmalade.

Collectables History

Golly was originally used as the Robertson's trademark in the 1920s. The first Robertson's collectable badges used the Golly image; these were discontinued in 2002 because although he was much loved for many years he was no longer an appropriate icon.

Roald Dahl Collectables

The collectable badges continued through a partnership with The World of Roald Dahl. The badges were a range of seven key Roald Dahl characters illustrated by Quentin Blake, such as the Big Friendly Giant, Matilda, James and the Giant Peach, and Willy Wonka. This collectable scheme ended in 2006.
